Season of Lent Begins: where to get ashes in town

HOUSTON – Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season.

For 40 days leading up to Easter, Christians around the world will take part in this season of prayer and fasting.

St. Luke’s United Methodist Church-Gethsemane Campus is offering “Ashes to Go” which will take place in the church parking lot.

Here is a list of other locations to celebrate Ash Wednesday:

Holy Comforter Episcopal Church 

Will again be providing their ‘Drive-Thru Ashes’ all day  from 7:00am to 7:00pm. The drive through will be located in the Holy Comforter Church parking lot, located at 2322 Spring Cypress Rd in Spring.
