SEATTLE, WA - The world of passwords and security questions could be no more. Amazon has filed a patent hoping to own the idea of pay with selfie. The online retailer is hoping to eliminate fraud and theft issues by allowing facial recognition software to do all the heavy lifting.
People would have to blink, smile, tilt their head or do something to prove they are in fact a 3D object. Amazon isn't the first to think of selfie pay. MasterCard announced a few months back they were testing a similar photo pay option as well, and they're also looking into customer's finger prints playing a role.
