DES MOINES, IA – Seems like nowadays there’s a magazine for just about everything! But one in particular has been sittin’ on store shelves for a very long time — 131 years to be exact.

We’re talking about Ladies’ Home Journal.

The well-known women’s magazine made its debut in 1883 and it was the girly go-to introducing fashion and food, and sometimes both.

Now over 13 decades later it’s all coming to an end.

The magazine will stop monthly printing in July and transition to a special-interest publication starting in the fall.

But on the bright side, the website isn’t going anywhere.

Apparently, the magazine says its not a consumer issue that’s to blame; but advertising.

The magazine has a circulation of 3.2 million. Wow, that’s a lot of girl power!
