HAWTHORNE, CA – It's a Musk-have.
The founder of Space-X wants to create a high-speed rail that would shoot pods carrying passengers from San Francisco to Los Angeles in just 30 minutes. Elon Musk's hyperloop concept would move peeps at 700 miles per hour. But all he's launching for now is a competition to develop the device.
Musk is calling on engineering teams and students to whip something up, and then they will all meet and submit their designs at Texas A&M next year.
To spur innovation, Space-X says they will build a one mile test track near headquarters in Hawthorne, California.
