WEST HOUSTON — A police officer is in the hospital after a suspected drunk driver plowed into the scene of a deadly crash.

All of this started around 11pm, Tuesday, on the Katy Freeway after a motorcyclist  lost control at I-610 and flew off the overpass, 50 feet to their death.

As police were barricading the scene of the crash, a female driver came plowing into a patrol car with an officer inside. The driver was later determined to be drunk. She and the officer were taken to the hospital and are going to be okay.

Then as that scene was clearing, another driver ran into the barricade, hitting a different patrol car. No one was hurt and police say he just wasn’t paying attention.
