KIEV, UKRAINE – The clock is ticking, and Ukraine wants answers.

A 48-hour deadline has been issued to Russia – demanding an explanation for its military drills near the border.

Apparently, the drills started after Russian soldiers got word Ukrainian forces killed five pro-Russian militants.

So, do these drills mean they’re getting ready to retaliate? And if time’s up and Russia doesn’t comply, are we headed to war?

Questions the Ukrainian foreign ministry is keeping tight-lipped about.

They haven’t said a word about what will happen if Russia doesn’t play by the rules. But is playing by the rules something we should ever expect?

Meanwhile, if you’re curious what Vladimir Putin’s been up to during all of this, word on the streets, he’s been playing with silver and gold.

No joke. Russia is marking Putin’s proclaimed annexation of Crimea with a series of commemorative coins.

It’s a 25-piece gold and silver plated collection, bigger than your average coin. Putin’s face on one side and a map of the Crimean peninsula on the other.

So far, there’s been no word on the value.

But on the flip side, 48 hours from now, if decisions come down to a coin flip — we know one they could use!
