Warrants out for two people charged with animal cruelty by neglecting and abandoning dog

HOUSTON – Bella is a seven-month-old puppy that’s had a rough start to life. In early October, she was found in a vacant home on top of a pile of dirty laundry left by her previous owners.  She was malnourished and had patches of fur missing.

Once found, she was taken in by the Houston Humane Society and has since gained ten pounds and is responding well to treatment.

“We really weren’t sure of it, and we’re so happy to say she will be making a full recovery,” said Sherry Ferguson, executive director of the Houston Humane Society said.

Harris County authorities are still trying to find and arrest two people, 44-year-old Elisha Gonzalez and 21-year-old Tristin  Daniel Hancock. The pair are charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal.
