Have any of you seen the movie “Zero Dark Thirty?”

It’s one of the best films in the past year. Although, there are a lot of people who will never vote for the film in any awards category; there has been backlash over the torture scenes.

Some people who vote for the Oscars have urged a boycott of the film. It may have worked; Director Kathryn Bigelow was snubbed for a nomination.

Simon Says: why do voters these days feel their vote needs to “say something” or “send a message”?

So the next time you have to vote for someone or something. You’d really be making a statement by giving a thumbs-up based on what someone’s accomplished instead of thinking about what you’ve accomplished with your vote.

That’s a vote of confidence we all should live by.
