WASHINGTON, D.C. – The World Series champs were the president’s special guests Monday and even the loyal New Yorker had to admit,  the ‘stros deserved to be there!!

“The Houston Astros, what a team. Because I watched our Yankees and the Yankees were good. The Yankees were tough. They were about as tough as anybody, but you guys were just a little bit tougher. So congratulations.”

President Donald Trump gave kudos to the whole team and shout outs to a few stand-outs: “How about George Springer?! The MVP of the world series. And who could forget the amazing Jose Altuve?!  And of course the lights-out pitching of Justin Verlander!”

Trump also praised the team for working so hard on and off the field after Hurricane Harvey devastated the city.

“What was really a show of world spirit and Houston strong. Everyone contributed. Everyone made critical plays. Everybody helped deliver the championship. Really, a true testament to the entire organization and to your many loyal fans,” Trump said.

“Our motto this year is we never settle,” said owner Jim Crane.

“We’ll represent baseball well,” said Skipper AJ Hinch. “We’ll try to represent the country well and to celebrate this in front of the country is truly a great honor. ”

Josh Reddick presented a special jersey to the president, not a Speedo as some predicted.  And finally, the man behind the analytics, GM Jeff Luhnow is looking forward.  “Thank you very much for hosting us and we plan to be back.”

And you can count on us to be rooting them on in the stands!
